as I wait for mornings dawn
& i sip my hot tea
& it warms my senses
i listen to nature’s silence,
& crickets play their song
& an old bull-frog calls his mate
i watch the unmoving stars
& a slice of moon bright and shining
& a falling star flashes across the sky
i feel the morning’s dew fall
& cool grass touch my toes
& tickles my feet
i smell the damp earth i turned
& a fall garden it will be
& i will be thankful for it’s bounty
I am alive, Mother Earth,
thank you
